Create a Modern, Distinctive Finish with Stucco Exteriors

Great for modern and southwestern style homes, stucco will give your home exterior an appealing finish. Although this material is a larger investment than vinyl, stucco can last over 50 years with the proper installation and maintenance.

What You Should Know

As a homeowner, you will have a great amount of control over the colour of the finished product. Stucco, unlike other siding options, can be mixed like paint to give you the exact colour you want. It can also be painted a different colour later if you decide you want to change. Keep in mind that old paint may need to be sandblasted off, so it’s always best to hire a professional.

Stucco consists of cement, lime and silica applied in layers over wood or metal lath. Essentially, it forms a concrete shell around your house so a stucco home requires less energy to stay cool in the summer and warm in winter.

Benefits of Stucco

  • Low maintenance
  • Reduced energy bills
  • Helps reduce sound transmission (good option for people near busy roads)
  • Fire retardant
  • Resists rot, mildew and mould
  • Can be applied to concrete masonry and wood frame buildings
  • Seamless appearance can draw more attention to your home’s other details (custom window trim, doors, beams, railing or roof)

It’s important to note that this exterior will cost more than some other siding options. Stucco is also not water resistant and the shifting of a home can result in cracking. Give us a call if you have questions or need recommendations on siding for your property!
